We are all familiar with the old adage "it’s all about perception". This is often said to us, or we find ourselves voicing these words to others, in response to challenging events or experiences. And honestly, I have been on the receiving end of these words more than once, often cringing as their sound meets my ears. Cringing not from the absurdity of the notion, but more so because of the piercing nature of its truth. We see the world not as it really is, but instead we see it as we are. Our thoughts, beliefs, ways of being shape our vision of both our internal and external world. This is both fabulous and scary. However, it serves as the ultimate “nudger”, nudging us to look at all that stuff that may inform how we see ourselves, others, and the world. Gently, and sometimes not so gently, calling us to put on a new pair of glasses. To be brave and curious enough to see what our lives can be like if only we can make the choice to be willing to see things from a new perspective. So, join us this week as we explore the subject of perception, how it shows up, and how it can inform our experience.
