So, this week we are talking about “packing our bags” as we approach the summit. Now this is sort of ironic since I have literally packed everything I own into a small trailer and headed north. It is a surreal experience to see all of your worldly possessions lumped together. I am beginning to realize, however, that is also an amazing opportunity. I began to see it, after some momentary experiences of losing my…you know what…as a practice in taking a closer look at the things really needed for my journey. Gratefully packing the things that serve me, and intentionally letting go of the things that have outlived their purpose. So, this is the adventure, as we begin this journey of stepping into new ways of being, living and moving about the world. To not hold on so tightly to the things that no longer serve us, be it old ways of seeing, believing, or interacting, and step powerfully and a little lighter into these new ideas. Now this is not always an easy task, as evidenced by my minor “meltdowns” in my own moving process, but the payoff is a lighter load and the ability to step more freely into the spaces that are calling us. Those spaces of both personal transformation and communal evolution. We are all in this thing called life together, and with lighter loads just think what we can accomplish.
